Artist Danisha Edwards is the designer and creator of the LISC Jacksonville Community Development Awards being awarded.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Danisha Edwards is an American artist, born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. After deciding to follow her passion, she changed her studies from architecture to fine arts. Danisha completed her undergraduate studies at the University of North Florida with a concentration in sculpture. Under her degree, she has studied other mediums, including painting, drawing, printmaking, and ceramics, applying a duo of techniques to create multimedia artworks. After spending time in New Orleans, Louisiana for graduate school, Danisha is now back home in Jacksonville, Florida, engaging viewers in her journey through her artwork and her business, Afrocoastal Art & Design LLC. Danisha gives back to her community as an art educator in the Duval County Public School district.
