Twin Lakes Academy Students Creating NFTs for Black NASCAR Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade have been learning about Web 2.0 and Web 3.0, Blockchain, NFTs and how the changes in technology will affect them. Students have participated also in the global conference Black Meta Fest 2022, in celebration of Black History Month 2022 and created NFTs that are now posted

TLAM students are applying their classroom knowledge taught by STEAM teacher William Jackson and his wife Aida (Artist and Professor) to real world experiences by designing and modeling to prepare themselves for careers in digital arts and design, web development and the business of being entrepreneurs and business owners. The skill of building web sites opens doors for students to create their own business.
Brands, understand the concepts of Marketing, Promotion, Networking and Collaboration. Participating in youth and teen conferences helps students to get over the fear of speaking in large groups, builds self-confidence and their awareness of self as they learn their skills, talents, and abilities. Girls particularly need to be engaged, because of the available opportunties in tech careers new to girls and women.
The recent conference “Black Meta Fest 2022 – Kids in the Metaverse” was the idea of the Lead Organizer William Jackson and Co-Organizers Prof. Aida Jackson (LoveBuilt Life), Captain Natalie Hannans (WaterGirlRaw) and Dorothy Mlambo, STEM Educator in South Africa.
The conference was attended by youth, teens, young adults and adults from the United States, Africa, Canada, Jamaica, and other global locations, an estimated 25 thousand viewers attending online or watching the live stream across a week of events and activities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Puq3nEBnsuk&t=3s
Students in Duval County Public Schools like digital animation student Janae, an accomplished art student at Fort Caroline Middle School of the Arts, spoke about her love of animation, that apps and platforms that she uses and her future career as an animator as one of the speakers at the conference. Students from Twin Lakes Academy Middle participated sharing their digital NFTs that were available for sale on the site Crypto Kids.
Their works earned the attention of Stefan Young, creator of the web site Black NASCAR celebrating Black men and women that race in NASCAR races across the country. The
site has historical information on drivers like Wendell Scott the first Black to win a NASCAR Cup race in 1963. Mr. Scott endured racism and Jim Crow laws that attempted to stop or
make it difficult to even race. So influential was Mr. Scott he was entered into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2015 and selected Twin Lakes Academy students created a video that is
